So tired
Seriously can't even think right now. B has been sick with croup AND his top left tooth is trying to break through. His gum is all swollen and red and he is coughing like a seal. And on top of that he has been sleeping like crap. Right now he's sleeping soundly on his dads lap and we are terriffied to move him. Must....google....croup...

Ooh I feel your pain. I just got off the phone with the pedi's office. We thought teething had ensued last night, and then this morning the girl woke up with a congested cough. Ahhh! Don't move the sleeping baby!!!
My daughter had the croup last winter, and it's scary! I tried the bathroom with steam thing and a vaporizer, but it didn't work, so I called my pediatrician in the middle of the night in a panic. He had me take her outside in the cold air for a few deep breaths of really cold air, and sure enough, it calmed her cough down enough to be able to sleep.

my kids get croup several times a year, I have no idea why - but they do. I put a humidifier in the room, do the bathroom thing, and then either take them outside in the cold or you can use your freezer (i prefer the freezer in the case that they get sicker from going outside). I also give my kids prednisone (for 1 day only), and usually this does the trick. They are over it in one night. Good Luck...croup with the stridor gets scary, but keep your cool.
